Ayer la luna se tiñó de rojo durante la noche en la que se ha protagonizado el eclipse lunar total más largo del siglo XXI, con una duración de 102 minutos y visible en casi todo el planeta, a excepción de algunos países americanos como Guatemala.

I’m really stoked about the blood moon tonight! It’ll be visible at 11:44pm IST and will last for 1 hour 43 minutes. I’m a big fan of astronomy. “Caught the Moon leaving Earth’s core shadow, just before setting over the South Atlantic.” – @Astro_Alex_ESA Today, a #LunarEclipse was visible to most of Earth’s population, except for North and Central America. Lunar eclipses occur about 2-4 times per year, when the Moon passes into the Earth’s shadow. In order to see a lunar eclipse, you must be on the night side of the Earth, facing the Moon, when the Earth passes in between the Moon and the Sun. You may have heard the term ‘Blood Moon’ for a lunar eclipse. When the Moon passes into the Earth’s shadow, it turns red. This happens for the exact same reason that our sunrises and sunsets here on Earth are brilliant shades of pinks and oranges.
